Last Sunday @ The Big House

August 28, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

FREE

Last Sunday @ The Big House Music Series continues August 28th as we celebrate live music for free in our back yard!
This month will be Thoughtomatic and The Flint River Band.

About The Flint River Band:

“It’s 1982, both windows are rolled down, my dad’s old Cheyenne pickup didn’t have air conditioning. We pulled up to the boat ramp bursting with excitement, the bright sunlight is dancing off the water, and the Spanish moss is swaying in the warm summer breeze. It was our escape, our water park, and we could already smell the catfish frying.”

The Flint River flows right through the heart of Southwest Georgia. It provides us, much like music, with the resources we need to sustain life. It was only fitting to name our band after this historic landmark, each member grew up on the banks of the Flint, fishing, swimming, and learning life’s lessons. I guess you could say this old river helped raise us; it ebbs and flows, much like music, and like life, it’s a part of who we are.

Wes Daniel – Keyboard, Lead Guitar, Vocals
Wes has built a life surrounded by his love of music, he is consumed by it! He has starred in many bands, notably, NovaKord, The Good Times, and is the owner operator of Family Music Plus in Pelham Ga. Wes has produced a number of musicians currently touring the country based out of the Atlanta Metro area but he calls South Georgia “home”.

Brandon Cox – Lead Guitar, Harmonica, Vocals
Brandon has spent numerous years as a driving force of the Atlanta music scene only to find a slice of heaven right back here where it all began. While in the “ATL”, Brandon honed his skill working as a session musician in some of the World’s top recording studios.
Chris “The Cranman” Cranford – Bass
Chris, also born and raised here in South Georgia, has been touring with national acts for the better part of twentyyears. “No one lays down a bass line like The Cranman” Sandy Thomas of Brothers’ in Christ. The Cranman is by in large the most active of the group very energetic & explosive! You are going to love watching this guy work this bass!

Dewey “Big D” Howell- Percussion
Dewey began drumming as a youngster in his local church band and those soulful hymns carried right over into the rock genre of music. “I recall the first time I heard the Beatles, as a youngster, at that point, I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life”. Big “D” has been touring with the FRB for a few years now and doubles as security for the band.

Bryan McKenzie – Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
Bryan began his journey as a drummer at the ripe old age of 17, “it was tough as a kid playing in smoky bars where I knew I wasn’t legally suppose to be, but we had a lot, and I mean a lot, of fun!” After the original gang disbanded for college he picked up the acoustic guitar and started performing as a solo artist which led to song writing. In 2012 he released his debut album “Out on the Edge” available on iTunes.
