On March 26, 1969, The Allman Brothers Band was born.
50 years later, we’re celebrating!
The Big House Museum opened to the public with free admission on Tuesday, March 26 in honor of the Allman Brothers Band’s 50th anniversary. The museum was full of people from the Middle Georgia area, and visitors from as far away as California – many of whom had never set food in The Big House! We are grateful to everyone who supports The Big House and the legacy of The Allman Brothers Band, and we are thankful to the 800+ visitors who spent the day with us on the 50th Anniversary!
Today, March 26, is the official date that The Allman Brothers Band was formed in 1969! Celebrate at The Big House Museum in Visit Macon all-day, free of charge, to honor and celebrate the band's 50-year career.
